Scott MacKenzie, Chief Executive Officer
Scott MacKenzie was appointed CEO and member of M*Modal’s Board of Directors in October 2014. Under his leadership, M*Modal is focused on increasing the productivity of healthcare providers using a combination of technology and services to improve clinical documentation and allow physicians to focus on their patients. Scott brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and information technology, with a successful track record in driving operational execution and helping companies leverage their core assets to create growth and value. Prior to joining M*Modal, Mr. MacKenzie was CEO of Passport Health Communications from 2009 until its acquisition by Experian in 2013. Following the acquisition, he served as President of Experian Health, a leading healthcare revenue cycle solutions provider. Prior to those roles, Mr. MacKenzie was part of McKesson Corporation as President of RelayHealth Pharmacy Solutions. He held executive positions at Cerner Corporation, where he ran its Providing Care business unit focused on physician, nurse, pharmacist and consumer electronic health record (EHR) software. In addition, he was an executive in information technology organizations at AT&T, General Electric and EDS. Mr. MacKenzie holds a MBA from the University of Michigan and a BS in Finance and Economics from Utah State University.
Michael Finke, President
Michael Finke has served as M*Modal’s President since August 2011. Mr. Finke co-founded MultiModal Technologies, Inc. in 2001 and served as its Chairman and CEO from 2001 until August 2011, when the company merged with MedQuist to form M*Modal. In his current role, Michael is responsible for leading the critical functions that develop M*Modal’s corporate strategy as well as products and services that incorporate advanced technology capabilities, direct partner initiatives, and drive marketing initiatives that boost market results. Prior to MultiModal, Mr. Finke was Chief Technology Officer and a co-founder of Interactive Systems, Inc. and has held positions at IBM, the University of Karlsruhe and Carnegie Mellon University. Mr. Finke earned his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in computer science from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany.
David Woodworth, Chief Financial Officer
David Woodworth has served as M*Modal’s Chief Financial Officer since June 2013 and is responsible for leading all financial planning, treasury and cash management, investor relations, accounting and taxation. Mr. Woodworth joined the Company in November 2011 as Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining M*Modal, Mr. Woodworth served as a Finance executive of Allscripts Healthcare, a publicly traded provider of clinical software, services, information and connectivity solutions, where he helped Allscripts achieve a period of organic and inorganic growth (including the merger and integration with Eclipsys in 2010) and drove improved financial operational execution and cost discipline through partnerships with the operational leaders. Mr. Woodworth also spent approximately six years with Ernst & Young’s Assurance Services partnering with key customers in a variety of industries. His experience also includes debt and equity offerings, corporate restructurings and reorganizations, and business combinations and dispositions. Mr. Woodworth holds a BS in Information Systems and a Masters in Accountancy from Wake Forest University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
William (Bill) J. Donovan, Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Bill Donovan has served as M*Modal’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources since joining the company in October 2011. In this role, Mr. Donovan leads the human resources and corporate communications activities supporting over 10,000 employees globally. Prior to joining M*Modal, Mr. Donovan was the Executive Director of Ronald McDonald Charities in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina. In his 20+ years at Nortel Networks, one of the world’s largest telecommunications services companies, Mr. Donovan held a number of senior executive roles, including leading the global human resources organization and driving improvements in business transformation, staffing and talent development across the company’s global workforce. He holds a BA in business administration from East Carolina University and MBA from Campbell University.
Juergen Fritsch, Chief Scientist
Dr. Juergen Fritsch has served as M*Modal’s Chief Scientist since August 2011. In this function, he is responsible for innovation and thought leadership activities around M*Modal’s speech understanding and clinical documentation workflow solutions. Dr. Fritsch co-founded MultiModal Technologies, Inc. in 2001 and served as its Chief Scientist from 2001 until August 2011, when the company merged with MedQuist to form M*Modal. Prior to MultiModal, Dr. Fritsch was one of the founders of Interactive Systems, Inc., where he served as Principal Research Scientist and was responsible for developing a next-generation medical speech understanding system. Dr. Fritsch also held research positions at the University of Karlsruhe and at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Fritsch was named a 2013 recipient of Speech Technology Magazine’s “Speech Luminary” award for innovation in the healthcare industry. He earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany.
Matthew Jenkins, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development
Matt Jenkins has served as M*Modal’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Business Development since joining the company in November 2011. Mr. Jenkins is responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s inorganic growth including development of strategic partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, investments and alliances. Mr. Jenkins formerly led corporate development at Allscripts where he helped transform Allscripts through a period of dynamic growth, including the merger with Eclipsys in 2010, the 2008 merger with Misys Healthcare, the divesture of the Misys Hospital businesses in 2007 and several other transactions. As Vice President of Corporate Development and member of the Misys Healthcare operating board (Misys, plc) his responsibilities included developing the strategic plan for the portfolio and leading the formation of many partnerships and alliances. Mr. Jenkins has also held operational leadership roles in the ambulatory, acute, and post-acute business lines of Allscripts. Mr. Jenkins was one of the three founding members of Cellective Therapeutics (acquired by AstraZeneca), a venture-funded biotechnology firm focused on developing industry-leading therapeutic antibodies for the treatment of oncology and immune-related diseases. His background also includes roles in venture capital and strategy consulting. Mr. Jenkins holds a BS in Business Administration and his MBA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Detlef Koll, Chief Technology Officer
Detlef Koll has served as M*Modal’s Chief Technology Officer since August 2011. Mr. Koll co-founded MultiModal Technologies, Inc. in 2001 and served as its Chief Technology Officer from 2001 until August 2011, when the company merged with MedQuist to form M*Modal. Prior to MultiModal, Mr. Koll was a Co-Founder and Vice President for product development for Interactive Systems, Inc. and served as Director of Speech Recognition Research at Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products. He has held research positions at Carnegie Mellon University and Advanced Telecommunications Research Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan. Mr. Koll earned his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in computer science from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany.
Mark Hoover, Senior Vice President of Sales
Mark Hoover has served as Senior Vice President of Customer Sales since October 2012. In this capacity he is responsible for customer satisfaction, account strategy, and the growth of M*Modal solutions into our existing customers. Mr. Hoover brings over 30 years of Sales and Sales Leadership experience to M*Modal. Previously he was a Vice President of Sales at Siemens Medical Solutions where he drove significant top line growth in both the Health IT and Medical Imaging sectors. Prior to Siemens, he held a variety of roles in Sales, Marketing, Implementations, Customer Solutions, and Executive Management at Shared Medical Systems. Mr. Hoover graduated from Indiana University Of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Business.
Ray Ibarguen, Senior Vice President of Sales
Ray Ibarguen has served as Senior Vice President of Sales Management since January 2013, leading the organization focused on driving New Business sales. In addition to New Business, he also serves as the SVP managing sales for Imaging, Strategic Accounts and Channel Management. He brings more than 30 years of medical sales and business development experience to the role, having previously worked at Siemens Medical and Shared Medical Systems in a number of leadership positions. Mr. Ibarguen holds a Bachelors of Science in Business from the University of Scranton.
Jason Kolinoski, Senior Vice President of Transcription Solutions
Jason Kolinoski has served as M*Modal’s Senior Vice President of Transcription Solutions since March 2013. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development / Sales Operations since June 2009. Prior to joining M*Modal, Mr. Kolinoski served as the Chief Operating Officer of CBay Systems and Services Holdings, Inc., from 2000 until the company acquired MedQuist, Inc. to form M*Modal.
Shaw Rietkerk, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations
Shaw Rietkerk has served as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Operations since November 2013, and is responsible for managing domestic and global service performance, customer satisfaction and the integration of acquired companies into the M*Modal operations model. Mr. Rietkerk joined M*Modal in 2002, and has over 20 years of healthcare industry experience within the clinical documentation area, including an extensive background in operations, account management, process integration and technology support services. Prior to M*Modal, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Practical Knowledge Solutions, where he managed multiple consulting projects focused on the startup of global and domestic transcription companies.
Mark Ivie, Chief Information Officer
Mark Ivie has served as M*Modal’s Chief Information Officer since June 2014. He is responsible for the production infrastructure, databases, and technology operations globally. Mr. Ivie also served previously as COO and CTO, and has been with M*Modal since 2005. Previous to M*Modal, Mr. Ivie spent seven years at GE Healthcare as General Manager of several R&D teams, including Imaging information systems, Clinical information systems, and global platforms, standards and security. He began his career with AT&T Bell Laboratories, and holds several patents for software designs. He has a BS Computer Science from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and a MS in Computer Science from the University of Virginia.

Michael P. O’Boyle
Michael O’Boyle has over 25 years of experience providing leadership to some of the top health care companies in the U.S. He is the former President and CEO of Parallon Business Solutions, an HCA Holdings company, which delivers consulting and business process outsourcing services to hospitals and other care facilities. Prior positions include serving as President of United Health Networks, the network services company of UnitedHealthcare, as well as leading the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic as its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. O’Boyle is currently a member for The Greenspring Fund Board, Pinstripe Holdings Advisory Board, Valence Health Advisory Board, and holds several Board and Council positions at St. Catherine University.
William T. Allen
William Allen has extensive leadership and Board-level experience at a number of multinational companies. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Managers for Werner International, having served as President and CEO of Werner’s U.S. operations. Mr. Allen is also a Board member of United Subcontractors Inc., and has held Board positions at Constar, Ames Taping Tools, Oriental Trading Company and others.
Eugene I. Davis
Eugene Davis brings decades of experience in the areas of strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, finance, accounting, capital structures and Board practices. He is Chairman and CEO of PIRINATE Consulting Group, which specializes in turnaround management and strategic planning advisory services. Since forming PIRINATE in 1997, Mr. Davis has advised and managed a number of businesses operating in such diverse sectors as telecommunications, automotive, medical, energy and financial services. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for U.S. Concrete, Inc., Harbinger Group, Inc., Spectrum Brands, Inc. and WMI Holdings Corp.
Jeffery D. Goldberg
Jeffrey Goldberg has spent much of his career providing executive leadership and legal counsel to companies in health care services and medical technology, including IncuMed, Advanced Bionics, Orthopedic Hospital, and the Doheny Eye Institute. Current Board positions include Physiotherapy Associates (Chair) and Angiotech Pharmaceuticals/Surgical Specialties (co-Chair).
