Scott MacKenzie, Chief Executive Officer

??????Scott MacKenzie was appointed CEO and member of M*Modal’s Board of Directors in October 2014. Under his leadership, M*Modal is focused on increasing the productivity of healthcare providers using a combination of technology and services to improve clinical documentation and allow physicians to focus on their patients. Scott brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and information technology, with a successful track record in driving operational execution and helping companies leverage their core assets to create growth and value. Prior to joining M*Modal, Mr. MacKenzie was CEO of Passport Health Communications from 2009 until its acquisition by Experian in 2013. Following the acquisition, he served as President of Experian Health, a leading healthcare revenue cycle solutions provider. Prior to those roles, Mr. MacKenzie was part of McKesson Corporation as President of RelayHealth Pharmacy Solutions. He held executive positions at Cerner Corporation, where he ran its Providing Care business unit focused on physician, nurse, pharmacist and consumer electronic health record (EHR) software. In addition, he was an executive in information technology organizations at AT&T, General Electric and EDS. Mr. MacKenzie holds a MBA from the University of Michigan and a BS in Finance and Economics from Utah State University.

Michael Finke, President

Michael Finke, President

Michael Finke has served as M*Modal’s President since August 2011. Mr. Finke co-founded MultiModal Technologies, Inc. in 2001 and served as its Chairman and CEO from 2001 until August 2011, when the company merged with MedQuist to form M*Modal. In his current role, Michael is responsible for leading the critical functions that develop M*Modal’s corporate strategy as well as products and services that incorporate advanced technology capabilities, direct partner initiatives, and drive marketing initiatives that boost market results. Prior to MultiModal, Mr. Finke was Chief Technology Officer and a co-founder of Interactive Systems, Inc. and has held positions at IBM, the University of Karlsruhe and Carnegie Mellon University. Mr. Finke earned his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in computer science from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany.

David Woodworth, Chief Financial Officer

David-Woodworth-bio David Woodworth has served as M*Modal’s Chief Financial Officer since June 2013 and is responsible for leading all financial planning, treasury and cash management, investor relations, accounting and taxation. Mr. Woodworth joined the Company in November 2011 as Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining M*Modal, Mr. Woodworth served as a Finance executive of Allscripts Healthcare, a publicly traded provider of clinical software, services, information and connectivity solutions, where he helped Allscripts achieve a period of organic and inorganic growth (including the merger and integration with Eclipsys in 2010) and drove improved financial operational execution and cost discipline through partnerships with the operational leaders. Mr. Woodworth also spent approximately six years with Ernst & Young’s Assurance Services partnering with key customers in a variety of industries. His experience also includes debt and equity offerings, corporate restructurings and reorganizations, and business combinations and dispositions. Mr. Woodworth holds a BS in Information Systems and a Masters in Accountancy from Wake Forest University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

William (Bill) J. Donovan, Senior Vice President of Human Resources

William (Bill) J. Donovan, Senior Vice President of Human ResourcesBill Donovan has served as M*Modal’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources since joining the company in October 2011. In this role, Mr. Donovan leads the human resources and corporate communications activities supporting over 10,000 employees globally. Prior to joining M*Modal, Mr. Donovan was the Executive Director of Ronald McDonald Charities in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina. In his 20+ years at Nortel Networks, one of the world’s largest telecommunications services companies, Mr. Donovan held a number of senior executive roles, including leading the global human resources organization and driving improvements in business transformation, staffing and talent development across the company’s global workforce. He holds a BA in business administration from East Carolina University and MBA from Campbell University.

Detlef Koll, Chief Technology Officer

Detlef Koll, Chief Technology OfficerDetlef Koll has served as M*Modal’s Chief Technology Officer since August 2011. Mr. Koll co-founded MultiModal Technologies, Inc. in 2001 and served as its Chief Technology Officer from 2001 until August 2011, when the company merged with MedQuist to form M*Modal. Prior to MultiModal, Mr. Koll was a Co-Founder and Vice President for product development for Interactive Systems, Inc. and served as Director of Speech Recognition Research at Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products. He has held research positions at Carnegie Mellon University and Advanced Telecommunications Research Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan. Mr. Koll earned his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in computer science from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany.

Ray Ibarguen, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Ray Ibarguen, Senior Vice President of Sales

Ray Ibarguen has served as Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing since July 2014. In his role as EVP, he is responsible for all sales including New Business, Customer Business, Imaging, Strategic  Accounts and Channel Management. In addition to these responsibilities, he also oversees Sales Operations, Education, and Marketing. He brings more than 30 years of medical sales and business development experience to the role, having previously worked at Siemens Medical and Shared Medical Systems in a number of leadership positions. Mr. Ibarguen holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Scranton.

Jason Kolinoski has served as M*Modal’s Senior Vice President of Transcription Solutions since March 2013. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development / Sales Operations since June 2009. Prior to joining M*Modal, Mr. Kolinoski served as the Chief Operating Officer of CBay Systems and Services Holdings, Inc., from 2000 until the company acquired MedQuist, Inc. to form M*Modal.

Jason Martin, Senior Vice President of Coding Solutions


Jason Martin has served as SVP of Coding Solutions since March 2015. In this role, he is responsible for leading overall corporate strategy, growth and customer satisfaction within coding services and technology. Mr. Martin worked at M*Modal in a number of leadership positions from 2006 until 2012. Prior to rejoining M*Modal in 2015, he was the Vice President of Sales for Peak Health Solutions and a Partner in Vaco Health Solutions. He has dedicated the last 10 years of his career assisting healthcare organizations across the country, addressing business needs within the areas of medical coding, audit and compliance, CDI, ICD-10 initiatives, and transcription services.

Paula Pasquinelli, Vice President of Implementation and Adoption Services


Paula Pasquinelli has served as M*Modal’s Vice President of Implementation and Adoption Services since March 2014. She is responsible for the successful implementation and ongoing optimization of M*Modal’s full suite of solutions. She manages a group of project team experts and adoption specialists focused on improving efficiencies throughout the clinical documentation lifecycle and ultimately increasing the quality of clinical documentation. In addition, Ms. Pasquinelli oversees the operational management and drives business initiatives for M*Modal’s direct partner business. She joined M*Modal in 2008, and has over 20 years of healthcare industry experience within the clinical documentation arena, including an extensive background in EMR optimization and management of technology-enabled services.

Marty Serro, Chief Information Officer


Marty Serro has served as Chief Information Officer since March 2015. He previously served as VP of Support since 2009. Marty is responsible for global production infrastructure, telecommunications, corporate applications, database management and technology operations. He is also responsible for customer and employee support for all M*Modal products and services.

Marty joined M*Modal in 1998 and has over thirty years of diversified technical experience in management, design, development and implementation of technology solutions across varied industries.

William T. Allen

William Allen has extensive leadership and Board-level experience at a number of multinational companies. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Managers for Werner International, having served as President and CEO of Werner’s U.S. operations. Mr. Allen is also a Board member of United Subcontractors Inc., and has held Board positions at Constar, Ames Taping Tools, Oriental Trading Company and others. 

Eugene I. Davis

Eugene Davis brings decades of experience in the areas of strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, finance, accounting, capital structures and Board practices. He is Chairman and CEO of PIRINATE Consulting Group, which specializes in turnaround management and strategic planning advisory services. Since forming PIRINATE in 1997, Mr. Davis has advised and managed a number of businesses operating in such diverse sectors as telecommunications, automotive, medical, energy and financial services. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for U.S. Concrete, Inc., Harbinger Group, Inc., Spectrum Brands, Inc. and WMI Holdings Corp.

Jeffery D. Goldberg

Jeffrey Goldberg has spent much of his career providing executive leadership and legal counsel to companies in health care services and medical technology, including IncuMed, Advanced Bionics, Orthopedic Hospital, and the Doheny Eye Institute. Current Board positions include Physiotherapy Associates (Chair) and Angiotech Pharmaceuticals/Surgical Specialties (co-Chair).
