James named CEO, King to fill new Chairman position
Franklin, Tenn. – June 4, 2013 – M*Modal, a leading provider of clinical documentation and Speech Understanding™ solutions, today announced that Duncan W. James has become CEO and a member of M*Modal’s Board of Directors, replacing Vern Davenport, who has chosen to leave the company. The Company also expanded its leadership team, naming Graham O. King as its new Chairman of the Board.

Prior to leading QuadraMed, James was Group President at McKesson Corporation for nearly a decade. He has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare information and technology industries, including domestic and international operations, strategic planning, sales and marketing, and product management.
M*Modal’s new Chairman of the Board Graham King is a long-time healthcare industry leader and strategic consultant, formerly head of the two largest healthcare information technology companies in the world, Share Medical Systems (now part of Siemens Corporation) and HBOC (now part of McKesson Corporation). He has also served as a director on the boards of seven companies, most of which were publicly owned and technology based across industries such as healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, real estate, and retail.
In related moves, M*Modal also announced that Ron Scarboro, Chief Financial Officer, is appointed Chief Operating Officer of M*Modal. He replaces Amy Amick, who has decided to leave the company. David Woodworth, currently Vice President, Finance, will assume the role of Acting CFO. All changes are effective immediately.

Duncan W. James
Chief Executive Officer
Duncan James is Chief Executive Officer of M*Modal. An accomplished senior executive with domestic and international experience in operations, strategic planning, sales/marketing, and product management, James has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare information and technology industries.
James joins M*Modal from QuadraMed Corporation, a leading supplier of clinical, access, and revenue management solutions. He served as QuadraMed’s President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors since July 2009. Prior to joining QuadraMed, James was Group President at McKesson Corporation for nine years and responsible for multiple business units as well asa member of the McKesson Operating Committee.
In addition to his experience at McKesson, James held multiple executive roles in operations, product management and marketing at HBO & Company and First Data Corporation Health Systems Group, prior to both becoming part of McKesson Corporation. He also was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Healthcare at Scient Corporation, formerly iXL Inc. Additionally, James held a number of key sales and marketing positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, a leader in computer systems and services.
He has a Bachelor of Science in industrial management and Master of Business Administration from Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Dallas, respectively.
